October 20210 visit to Heron Hill, described as a tumulus by J.J. Waddell in 1918. It is sited on an island in a pond near the motorway service station.
Chris McGinley arranged for us to borrow a canoe and life jackets from Outdoor Learning and Adventure at the Council.
The site is on Canmore at https://canmore.org.uk/site/45677/hamilton-low-parks-heron-hill. Is it a burial cairn or a crannog or a motte or a 18th century designed landscape feature?
